Module information changes

The prerequisite to these procedures is that you must have received notification (this will be normally be an email which contains Curriculum Modification documents) from a College Marketing Manager or Head of Student Recruitment. The action required will be clearly identified within the email and it will be sent into digitalsupport@derby.ac.uk.

Any module changes made will generally not updated on the live site until the next full site publish which runs overnight.

Changes required to existing module content

  1. This change will be made by the relevant College Marketing Manager. Note that only modules changes to the description, assessment method and number of credits will affect content on the website.

  2. The College Marketing Manager should find the relevant module in the module repository on TerminalFour and update the module to reflect the changes, including the approval date if applicable.

Changes of modules on a course

  1. This change will be made by the relevant College Marketing Manager.

  2. The College Marketing Manager should update the applicable Course stage content type on relevant courses to either add or remove the module.

Removal of a module

  1. The relevant College Marketing Manager will send to digitalsupport@derby.ac.uk the following information:

    1. Module code and name of the module being removed.

    2. A list of courses (full name as shown on the website) which the module is being removed from.

  2. A member of the digital team should review the relevant stage of each of the identified courses and remove the module code. Ensure that any unnecessary comma’s are removed from the comma-separated list.

    1. Note: Do not remove the module itself from the module repository.

  3. Once complete, confirm back to the College Marketing Manager and mark the ticket as closed.

Implementation of a new module

  1. The relevant College Marketing Manager will send to digitalsupport@derby.ac.uk the following information:

    1. Module code

    2. Link to the module specification in Sharepoint repository

    3. A list of all programmes that the module needs adding to, whether these are compulsory or optional against each programme and at which stage

  2. A member of the Digital Team should build the module within the relevant section of the module repository on TerminalFour. This is located in: Home > www.derby.ac.uk > Site assets > Content > Course Modules

  3. Attach the module to the relevant stage of each course as identified by the College Marketing Manager.

  4. Once complete, confirm back to the College Marketing Manager and mark the ticket as closed.

 

Modules codes

A module code should never change - in cases where a module would be changed like that the old module is retired and new one created with a new code.
