How to add content to Derby on Demand
Before starting
Please ensure you keep to the naming conventions and recommended guidance in this document. Consistency and naming conventions will ensure the content is easier to manage, maintain and add to going forward.
Each piece of content will be created as a section in its own right, but will pulled into a single feed. Video and 360 content will display in a modal be and consumed by users on the feed. Blog content will be housed on sub pages, and promos blocks will take users to the relevant link (eg Campus Tours booking form, or UniBuddy).

Content is set to show in the correct group by tagging using the section config. If any subjects are tagged the content will automatically show in the subject group. If no direct subject(s) apply one option can be tagged from the blog category list.

Adding content
Four types of content can be added to Derby on Demand, see each guide:
How content is ordered
Content is ordered by the category it belongs to. The order of categories is decided by the Campaigns Team and set across the board in T4 by a Web Developer.
Within each category the content is ordered by date, which is set in the Start or Publish date field on the Section config of each content item.
These rules can be overridden using the DoD custom config content type which the Digital and Campaigns Teams have access to. Using this a custom weight can be set for a content item for each year of entry. Please contact digitalsupport@derby.ac.uk for further advice and guidance.
Trending content
By default, all content in the “Student life” category is set to “Trending”. If Campaigns wished to change this, they should notify a Web Developer.
Individual pieces of content can also be set to “Trending” if “trending” is added to the name of the section config.
