The following steps outline how to create a news page in T4

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Home » www.derby.ac.uk » Organisation » News
  2. Create a section within the relevant year
    1. Name should reflect the name of the news article
    2. Ensure show in navigation option is ticked
    3. Set the output URI - This means the URL won't break if the page title gets changed
  3. Add a pattern hero
    1. Name should be the same as the section name
  4. Add a text block
    1. This is the body of the news article
  5. Add an image embed/group or impact quote if required
  6. Add the section config
    1. Add your abstract, this should be relevant and unique to the news article
    2. Add a thumbnail image rectangle. Export from ThirdLight using Website imagery – thumbnail rectangle, or crop your image to 2000x1500px. Pass through TinyJPG and upload to an appropriate folder in the media library.
  7. Set content type tag to News – The article will not appear in the News list if this is not set
  8. If relevant, set the college(s)
  9. If relevant, set the research centre(s)
  10. If relevant, set the subject(s)
  11. Set the start or publish date field
  12. Preview webpage and check formatting
